Why Torah Ohr & Likutei Torah?
The Rebbe spoke many times about the importance of learning Likutei Torah and Torah Ohr.
״כל אחד יקח על עצמו, בלי נדר, לגמור שני ספרים של לקוטי תורה ותורה אור (לבד החלק של שיר השירים) עד השבוע של שבת בראשית הבה, שאז מתחילים לקרות בתורה עוד הפעם מבראשית. ילמדו בכל שבוע מאמרי השבוע, ועד השבוע דפ׳ בראשית – ימלאו לימוד המאמרים דהפרשיות דראשית השנה, ועד עתה״
“Everyone should take upon themselves, without a vow, to finish the two seforim of Likutei Torah and Torah Ohr (not including the section dealing with Shir HaShirim) until the week of Shabbos Parshas Bereshis, then we will start to read the Torah again from the beginning.
